New school year, new start!

Well, school started two days ago here. I have to admit I am happy to get my family back on a schedule! As the girls get older, it seems my running around goes down. This is for a few reasons; Kristin is in middle school, so all her sports practices are right after school, and Kaitlyn is in high school and just got her license this past summer. As I look at our calendar it is both full and open. the girls have practices and events, but I am not a part of them, so I am pretty open. How will I deal with my new found freedom? Well, first I have been buying all the supplies needed to start quilting. I started this in about April, but found we are pretty busy in the summer. So, I am hoping the cold winter nights will allow me to work on some projects. As I look at the new school year, I realize that this weekend will be spent getting the house set up to flow better. I usually try to have everything done before school starts, but it seemed to creep up on me this year. What do i have planned? Well take a look below:
1- Get all laundry done (mine, Jason's', Katie's, Kristin's and other household laundry)
2- Go through closets. I am amazed at how many articles of clothing we have, but still feel like we have nothing to wear! Time to downsize! Katie will be at a swim meet out of town until about midnight on Saturday, so that will be a perfect time to work on her closet and drawers. Kristin went through her closet last week, but it doesn't hurt to check it out anyway! My closet is going to go through a major purge! I am sure as I get rid of more clothes, I will have more outfits!
3- Go through the remaining closets throughout the house. Linen closet, storage closets off the family room, and the front hall closet. I am still trying to find a good solution to the pile of shoes by our door!
4- An inventory of our pantry, fridge and freezers are needed! It makes it a lot easier and cheaper to do your menu planning when you know what you have on hand to begin with.

This is my list so far, and if I know myself, I will come up with other things also. But at least I feel like i have a starting point!
Schedule tonight- after volleyball and swimming practice, Jason and Kaitlyn have worship band practice. This will give me a chance to get the household laundry done and catch up with Kristin and how her 7th grade year is going!
Until tomorrow.... remember you are blessed!
